Mail ordered M1 Garand "service grade" from Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) thecmp.org Feb 2nd 2024. Order went through May 20th and received May 28th 2024.
Came with new Criterion barrel and new CMP gas block. Replaced stock and missmatched parts:- Walnut GI Stock - $50 (shipped)
- Lower band (new) - $14.50
- Front hand guard ferrule (new) - $5.95
- Gas cylinder lock (WW2 NOS) - $19.95
- Rear sight assembly (new) - $54.95 - Could have saved $20 by just buying election pinon assembly instead
Stock was purchased from @Gunner2010 forums.thecmp.org member. Got all other parts from ammogarand.com. Shipping was $10 but I also got some clips, sling, and other items.
Also purchased a ported gas plug to shoot commercial 30-06 ammo from garandgear.com.
Sold Danish stock it came with for $50.

The M1 Garand or M1 rifle is a semi-automatic rifle that was the service rifle of the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
The rifle is chambered for the .30-06 Springfield cartridge and is named after its Canadian-American designer, John Garand. It was the first standard-issue autoloading rifle for the United States. By most accounts, the M1 rifle performed well. General George S. Patton called it "the greatest battle implement ever devised". The M1 replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the U.S. service rifle in 1936, and was itself replaced by the selective-fire M14 rifle on March 26, 1958.
